Having stepped back from Phoenix Group as plc HRD in 2020, I completed the Meyler Campbell Mastered programme for Executive Coaches in 2021 (http://www.meylercampbell.com/who-we-are).
I am currently running an executive coaching practice, consulting on HR matters, and mentoring HR leadership on strategic engagement.
Recent coaching clients have included the CEO of an NGO, a European Insurance CFO, mentoring a Global Head of Talent for a Multinational, working on strategy with a UK HRD at a plc, and coaching the Director of a major UK based charity.
I have substantial experience of operating at ExCo level in Global and pan-European businesses, multiple exposure to M&A and post M&A integration and effecting cultural renewal. Over twenty years I have operated as the HR lead at Board and ExCo level partnering with CEO’s in Financial Services.
The core skills I have deployed in my executive career have been in the alignment of people strategy to the business, in the commercial delivery of change in how Human Capital is managed, and the particular leadership and cultural calls in M&A and in post-acquisition integration. In my time at Phoenix Group we did four acquisitions including acquiring Standard Life Assurance in 2018 and ReAssure in 2020 and I completed both CEO and CFO successions.
Alongside HR, I latterly had accountability for Internal Communications and CSR. As a strong believer in the broadest understanding of cultural drivers, I welcome the now increased visibility of culture at Board level.
Regarded as a team player, with high trust and confidential relationships navigated at executive and Board level. I am articulate, loyal, discrete, independent minded, and values driven.
I speak reasonable French and Spanish, and have always greatly enjoyed working across regional and global business lines.
